Optimi
11/2003 - 06/2007
Melbourne, Florida
Sr. Linux / NT Systems Administrator
Agilent sold the Wizard product to Optimi in October 2003, in November I started doing contract IT work for the Wizard team and in April 2004 I was brought on as a full time employee. Using Linux (MNF) I set up a firewall w/ DMZ for the Melbourne Office. Later I used the same setup for the Atlanta office and configured, using IPSec, a corporate VPN. While setting up the VPN, I mapped out the IP address scheme to use at each office and any new offices. When Optimi acquired the Malaga Office, I remotely set up their VPN and re-configured the IPSec tunnel so all offices communicate over the same VPN tunnel. I configured the corporate active directory on Windows Server 2003 and moved email to groupware using Exchange 2003. In July 2004 I went to Malaga to integrate their network into Optimi's and to interview IT candidates. In August I returned to train the new IT team member. I configured company wide Client/Server VPN access for remote users. Using Zabbix on Linux, I set up monitoring of the Melbourne office's network and servers. I deployed Symantec's Corporate Anti Virus solution. Recently I upgraded our corporate firewalls to SonicWall 2040s and set up each office with dual ISP connections. The Interoffice VPN is configured to failover between ISPs and outbound traffic is load balanced between the two connections. I routinely work with the software developers & QA team configuring test servers for various scenarios. Internally, the majority of the desktop systems are Windows XP with some Linux (Mandrake). Internal servers are a mix of Linux (Mandrake, SuSE, & Fedora), Windows Server 2000 & 2003, and Solaris.
